1

Apartment Entry — Establish Baseline

Enter the apartment and walk through every room slowly. Your only goal right now is to memorize where everything is. Open every door, look at every window, check every object position. This is your baseline — you will need to compare against it later.

Tip: Take your time. The game does not punish slow observation at this stage. Some players find it helpful to do a second pass.
2

First Observation Cycle

Leave the apartment and re-enter. Now compare everything to your baseline. Look for things that have moved, disappeared, or appeared new. Check all doors and windows — are they still in the state you left them?

Tip: Start from the entrance and work through rooms systematically. Don't skip doors or windows.
3

Lock Down — Secure All Entry Points

Once you've spotted the differences, your next priority is securing every door and window. Close and lock anything that's open. The game's core mechanic is 'lock every door and window before it gets in.'

Tip: Use the Door & Window Safety Checklist on this site to track which ones you've secured.
4

Repeat Observation Cycles

Continue the cycle: leave, re-enter, spot differences, secure doors and windows. Each cycle introduces new changes and may increase in difficulty. Stay focused and methodical.

Tip: Don't rush. Missing a difference is worse than taking extra time. Use the checklist to stay organized.
5

Escalation Phase

As cycles continue, the changes become more dramatic and the threat increases. You may notice environmental changes that go beyond simple object movement. Stay alert and keep securing all entry points.

Tip: At this point, checking doors and windows is more important than spotting every difference.
6

Demo Conclusion

The demo ends after a set number of cycles or when specific conditions are met. The ending you get depends on how well you maintained security and spotted differences.

Tip: The demo has multiple possible outcomes. Try a second run making different choices to see alternative content.
